Postage & Packing/Shipping

Items are usually dispatched within 3 working days.  This may take longer during busy periods.

UK items are shipped using the Royal Mail Second Class Tracked service. 

International items can take up to 20 working days for delivery on their Royal Mail International Tracked service.  This can be longer at busy times of the year. Please be aware that due to the UK no longer being part of the EU, customs tax and administrative charges may apply and will be required to pay on receipt of the order.  Please inform yourself of these charges before you place your order.

I try to keep the postage costs to a minimum and only charge what it costs for me to send each item plus a very small amount to cover packaging materials.  If it costs less than you have paid for me to post an item I will refund you the difference.

I work hard to ensure that all of my packaging materials are as environmentally friendly as possible. As such I use plastic free, paper and biodegradable materials that have been responsibly sourced.  I may at times re-use plastic packaging materials that have been sent to me. I encourage you to also re-use these materials.

Breakages

I have a very robust packaging system to ensure your order is received intact.  In the very unfortunate event that a piece should arrive broken please photograph the piece and its packaging and e-mail the photographs to me at kt@ceramicsbykarentacey.co.uk within two days of receipt. I can then issue a replacement or a refund.

Returns

I work very hard to ensure that my photographs, descriptions and measurements are accurate to enable you to have a very clear picture of the item you are purchasing, please read these descriptions carefully before you place your order. If however you are not happy with your purchase please contact me at kt@ceramicsbykarentacey.co.uk within seven days.  It is your responsibility to then arrange the return of the item. I must receive the item in the same condition in which it was sent before I issue an exchange or if necessary a refund. Unfortunately I am unable to refund any of the postage costs and you must ensure you obtain proof of postage of your return.

Please be aware that each piece is handmade and therefore completely unique. Each piece will have individual characteristics from the making process and may be different in shape, size and colour to the next. If you would like a pair or a set of pieces I will try my best to match them unless you state otherwise.

I cannot accept a return after 14 days of receipt unless the item is faulty.

Care Instructions

My ceramics are made with high fired stoneware clay and as such are ideal for use as homeware.  My pieces are dishwasher safe (unless stated otherwise) and indeed I use the dishwasher for my pieces at home. However dish washers can sometimes use harsh cleaning cycles and high temperatures. Due to the nature of handmade ceramics and the application of interactive glazes I do recommend that, to prolong the beauty of your piece you handwash each piece or alternate between handwashing and the dishwasher.

I test my ceramics both in the microwave and the oven and in theory they are safe to use in both (unless stated otherwise). However, to avoid THERMAL SHOCK, as with all ceramics you must avoid rapid temperature changes.  There are a number of ways you can prevent thermal shock breakages, these include the following - Warm any large pieces before filling with boiling water. Allow boiling water to cool slightly before filling a mug. Do not take a ceramic item straight from the fridge and put into a hot oven or microwave. Do not put a ceramic item into the microwave to heat it without food on/in it. Do not place a hot ceramic item into cold water.

Commissions

If you cannot see the piece you had hoped to find I will occasionally make to order.  I usually give a 4 week lead time on commissions but during busy times this can extend to 6-8 weeks.  Please contact me on kt@ceramicsbykarentacey.co.uk to discuss further.

Wholesale
