One off Workshop £85 pp
An individual, bespoke, 3-4 hour taster class is a great way to sample the art of creating with clay!
In the very relaxed atmosphere of Karen's home studio you will look at the main techniques of throwing on the wheel.
The price includes 2 pieces to be fired & glazed in your choice of glaze and collected or posted to you (cost of P&P may apply).
Series of 3 Workshops £250 pp
These 3, 3-4 hour lessons are designed to give you an overall view of the whole making process. It aims to equip you with information and experience enough to give you the confidence to take your hobby further.
From preparing the clay, throwing it, adding handles and/or patterns, glazing and firing it, the workshops will be fully suited to your needs and skill level.
The price includes glazing & firings (cost of P&P May apply).
Be warned, once you start playing with clay there is no going back,
Suitable for the complete beginner or someone with previous experience.
For one or two people, over 16’s only.

***** Jon I met Karen at a craft fair where I bought one of her mugs and found out she did one & 3 day courses. Something I've always wanted to do so booked a one day course where I learnt to throw a small pot! Enjoyed it so much I booked the 3 day course which was well structured into a throwing day, a trimming day and a glazing day. Karen has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to ceramics and particularly throwing. The lessons are relaxed and informal and Karen's teaching methods are methodical and patient in a homely relaxed atmosphere (with good coffee). Its set me off on my road to ceramics as a hobby and I now have my own wheel and kiln with ongoing support. If you're looking to just have a go or are a little more serious then these workshops with Karen are a great way to experience the magic of clay but beware, once you get that clay between your fingers you will be hooked!
***** Steve I booked a half day experience with Karen... And what an experience it turned out to be - excellent. Everything was ready when I arrived as Karen quickly demonstrated the art of throwing pots followed by calm advice as I tried to repeat the process. I ended up with 3 pots which Karen fired for me after the session which I am extremely pleased with. Would I recommend her workshop to others... Definitely!!

***** Tracy I met Karen during Herefordshire Arts week in 2022 and started doing 1x1 workshops with her in early 2023. Karen is a fantastic teacher and has a great way of explaining each part of the process, it's amazing what you can produce after a couple of sessions under her supervision. Karen has continued to support me since I purchased my own wheel and kiln, she was is so encouraging and is always there if I need advice .
