Whilst Karen’s Luminescent Glaze Collection was developed specifically for this exhibition, she has continued to work with this on her more decorative centrepieces. The glaze containing fine elements and a complex firing schedule produces an iridescent square macro crystal that works beautifully and simply on smooth white clay. With the addition of iron oxide in the speckled clay this glaze, whilst maintaining an iridescence produces an interesting fleck that is pulled into the centre as the glaze melts. On chocolate clay the effect is very different, with a much smaller crystal though equally delightful.
All pieces have been designed and hand produced to give a reminiscence, some might say, of the moon reflecting on a river’s surface.
This body of work can be found at Livinloom Home, Ross-on-Wye.
Current Work
A fresh new white collection for both Livinloom Home and The Nest at Little Verzons Farm.
Current Work
Karen is currently developing two new glazes to add to her new Spring table ware. Hoping to add a new blue/grey and a speckled cream to what is a contemporary neutral collection. Karen will share photographs shortly.
